Take a pre-order with a deposit

Record a bakery pre-order with pickup date and time, take a deposit by cash, card or a custom method, and print the customer copy with the balance due.

Steps

  1. On the register, add the items as usual (choose sizes and options).
  2. Select the customer (or add a new one with name and phone).
  3. Choose pre-order and set the pickup date and time — and the pickup location if you have several shops.
  4. Take the deposit: enter the amount (or percentage per your policy) and the payment method.
  5. Finish. The order is saved as partially paid; the customer copy shows the deposit, the balance and the pickup date.

Tips

  • Say the deposit policy out loud on big orders; it is also printed on the receipt footer.
  • For custom cakes, use a custom cake order so the decorator gets the notes and photo.
  • At pickup, see collect the balance.
