What is GetBakeryPOS?

GetBakeryPOS is hosted point-of-sale software built around how bakeries actually sell: by pre-order, by the cake, by the kilo and by the tray. It takes deposits on future pickups, keeps custom cake details and photos on the order, prices weighed items from scale labels, builds tomorrow’s production list, tracks lots and expiry dates, and publishes an online store from your products.

The Baker’s Almanac

A bakery year, and the order peak each month brings.

Every bakery lives by a calendar of orders, not just a clock. Scroll the year: each peak is matched with the part of GetBakeryPOS that keeps it under control.

  1. January

    Rosca de Reyes

Jan 6, Día de Reyes · Panaderías

Sugar-paste miniature of a Rosca de Reyes ring with candied fruit

Families order the Rosca for January 6, often two or three at a time, and the orders arrive in December. Every unpaid Rosca left on the shelf on January 7 is a loss.

Take Rosca pre-orders from December 1 with a pickup date and a deposit; the bake list for Jan 5 builds itself.

    Pre-orders & deposits
  2. February

    Valentine's Day & Tết

Feb 14 · Tết Feb 6, 2027 · Every bakery; Vietnamese bakeries for Tết

Sugar-paste miniature of a heart-shaped cake with pink rosettes

Heart cakes with photo prints, names in icing, a dozen strawberry tarts. Every order is a little different, and the details get lost on sticky notes.

Custom cake orders keep the size, flavour, inscription, reference photo and deposit on one order the decorator can open.

    Custom cake orders
  3. February–March

    Ramadan

Ramadan begins ≈ Feb 8, 2027 · Arab and South Asian bakeries

Sugar-paste miniature of kunafa, maamoul and dates beside a lantern

Trading shifts to the hours before iftar. Kunafa, maamoul and dates sell by weight, and the case empties in ninety minutes.

Weigh at the scale, print a barcode label, scan it at the till: the price per kilo is never typed by hand.

    Weighing scales
  4. March–April

    Eid al-Fitr & Easter

    Eid ≈ Mar 10, 2027 · Easter Mar 28, 2027 · Mithai shops, Arab sweets, Easter breads

Sugar-paste miniature of a mithai box with laddoos and barfi

Mithai boxes by the kilo, corporate orders of two hundred boxes, and Easter breads in the same fortnight. Stock runs out on the busiest day of the year.

Lot numbers on every batch and expiry dates on every box, so the oldest stock sells first and nothing past date reaches a customer.

    Expiry & lot tracking
  5. May

    Mother's Day & 10 de Mayo

May 10 (Mexico) · May 9, 2027 (US) · Panaderías, every cake shop

Sugar-paste miniature of a three-tier cake covered in sugar flowers

The biggest cake week of the year for many shops: two Mother's Days a day apart, and a decorating team working through the night.

Tomorrow's production list merges pre-orders with your par levels, split by station: oven, decorating, packing.

    Daily production lists
  6. June–July

    Weddings & quinceañeras

Every weekend through summer · Celebration cake specialists

Sugar-paste miniature of a tall white wedding cake with lace piping

Tiered cakes booked months ahead with a tasting, a deposit and a final balance due the week before. One missed balance and the cake leaves unpaid.

Balances due show on the order; the customer gets the outstanding amount at pickup, never a surprise.

    Pre-orders & deposits
  7. August

Back to school & café wholesale

Mid-August · Bánh mì shops, bakeries supplying cafés

Sugar-paste miniature of baguettes, pineapple buns and conchas in a basket

Standing orders restart: forty baguettes for the bánh mì counter at 6 a.m., pineapple buns for the café down the road, invoices on 15-day terms.

Wholesale accounts with their own price list, credit limit and standing order, invoiced on terms.

    Wholesale accounts
  8. September

    Mid-Autumn Festival

    Sept 15, 2027 (Sept 25, 2026) · Chinese and Vietnamese bakeries

Sugar-paste miniature of mooncakes with a salted egg yolk and a paper lantern

Mooncake boxes are pre-ordered for weeks, by families and by companies. Fillings cost real money: lotus paste, salted yolks, nuts.

Recipe costing tells you what one mooncake really costs once wastage is counted, before you print the price list.

  9. October–November

    Día de Muertos & Diwali

    Nov 1–2 · Diwali Nov 8, 2026 · Panaderías, mithai shops

Sugar-paste miniature of pan de muerto with orange marigolds

Pan de muerto sells from mid-October, from the case and by the dozen. Shops with two or three locations move dough and finished bread between them every morning.

Transfer stock between shops in two taps, with one catalogue and per-location prices.

    Multi-location
  10. November

    Thanksgiving pies

    Nov 26, 2026 · US bakeries

Sugar-paste miniature of pumpkin, apple and pecan pies

Pie pre-orders close on Monday, pickup runs Wednesday all day, and the line goes out the door. Customers want to order online, not call.

Your online store is generated from your catalogue: pies, sizes, pickup slots, deposits. No separate website to update.

    Online store
  11. December

    Holiday trays & year-end

    Dec 24–31 · Every bakery

Sugar-paste miniature of decorated cookies, a yule log and a gingerbread house

Cookie trays, yule logs, office party orders, New Year cakes in Dubai and Karachi, and the Rosca orders for January already coming in.

Start in a quiet week: sign up, import the catalogue, and the store is live before the holiday rush.

    How it works

Custom cake orders

Every tier of the order, in one place.

A celebration cake is four decisions and a payment. The order keeps all of them together, so the decorator never works from a screenshot.

  1. Size & servings. Pick a size variation; the price follows it.
  2. Flavour & filling. Modifiers with their own prices.
  3. Inscription & reference photo. Typed notes and the customer’s photo attached to the order.
  4. Pickup date & deposit. Paid now, balance at pickup, reminder before.

“Our Rosca orders used to live in a spiral notebook. Now every order has a pickup day and a deposit, and on January 5 the bake list tells us exactly how many to make.”

Bakery POS questions, answered

Straight answers on deposits, scales, prices and getting started. Type a word to filter.

What is the best POS system for a bakery?

The best bakery POS is one that handles the work a bakery does that a coffee shop doesn’t: pre-orders with pickup dates and deposits, custom cake orders, items sold by weight, a daily production list and expiry dates. GetBakeryPOS includes all of these from the first paid plan up, at a published monthly price with no contract.

Can customers pre-order and pay a deposit?

Yes. Every order can carry a pickup date and time, a deposit (fixed or a percentage) and the balance due. Balances show on the order and are collected at pickup. Online pre-orders come through your auto-generated store.

Does it work with a weighing scale?

Yes. Label scales print a barcode that carries the product code and the weight; the register reads it and prices the item by weight. You set the barcode format once in settings. See the scale guide.

How much does GetBakeryPOS cost?

Counter is $39/month per location in the US, Bakehouse $69 and Commissary $109. The UAE and Pakistan have their own local prices (AED with VAT included, PKR plus sales tax). Paying yearly gives you 2 months free. See pricing.

Is there a contract or setup fee?

No contract and no setup fee for the POS. You can cancel at the end of any month. The 30-day trial does not ask for a card.

Do you take a cut of my card payments?

No. Card payments run through your own processor, at the rate you agree with them. We charge only the monthly plan.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in the browser on a tablet, laptop or PC, hosted by us. You sign up, add your shop and products, and start selling. Printers, scanners, scales and cash drawers plug into the device at the counter.

Can I move my products from Square, Toast or Clover?

Yes. Export your items and customers to CSV and import them. We help for free during the trial. See switching.

Can my staff use it in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic or Urdu?

Yes. Each user can work in their own language, and receipts can print in the language your customers read. Arabic and Urdu run right-to-left. See languages.

Do I get a website?

Every plan includes an online store generated from your catalogue, so products, prices and photos stay in sync. If you want a custom designed site, the managed website or the Bakery Bundle adds one. See online store.

Do you sell in the UAE and Pakistan?

Yes, with local prices: AED with 5% VAT included in the UAE, PKR plus applicable sales tax in Pakistan. WhatsApp is our main channel in both. See UAE and Pakistan.
